Mental Health Policy
Dr. Sherry Nourian is a licensed psychologist and mental health professional in the state of California, able to provide therapy services to residents in California. Dr. Sherry Nourian also provides parent support coaching services to clients of Dr. Sherry 3R Parenting, that are separate and independent of therapy services. These coaching services may be accessed by residents of any state or country.
Therapeutic services are deemed necessary and appropriate when intervention of a diagnosable mental health condition is present for you or your child.
Parent support coaching services are deemed appropriate when intervention and support around parenting is sought without a diagnosable mental health condition present for you or your child.
In the event Dr. Sherry deems, in her sole discretion, that coaching is not appropriate for you, she will notify you of the termination of the coaching relationship. Dr. Sherry is unable to provide therapy services to you if a coaching relationship was previously present. Dr. Sherry is unable to provide coaching services to you if a therapeutic relationship was present. In some circumstances, when requested by you and agreed to by all parties involved, Dr. Sherry may provide therapeutic services to your child only after terminating parent coaching sessions with you. In these instances, your child will be the primary client for treatment, while you will be in the role of an important collateral support, with potential for continued involvement in treatment to support your child's progress and development.
In either instance of therapy services or coaching services, Dr. Sherry will abide by mandatory reporting rules typical of mental health settings, usually pertaining to child abuse or neglect, self-harm or harm to others.
Dr. Sherry Nourian does not provide letters for ongoing court cases or other purposes.
Dr. Sherry 3R Parenting and Dr. Sherry Nourian are not licensed to provide medication or medical advice related to you or your child's healthcare. This should be discussed with you or your child's medical doctor or psychiatrist. Dr. Sherry 3R Parenting and Dr. Sherry Nourian are not licensed or trained to provide legal recommendations related to custody, arbitration, or any other legal proceedings. This should be discussed with you or your child's attorney or a legal professional.
The author assumes no responsibility for any circumstances arising out of the use, abuse, interpretation, or application of any information supplied on this website or in our programs. You understand and acknowledge that you are in the best position to evaluate how our information will impact your personal set of circumstances, including known and unknown risks.
